Caught in the Act – Hungry Brown Rat

A curious Brown Rat pauses on a fallen tree trunk with a morsel of food held between its teeth, staring directly into the camera. Surrounded by moss, weathered wood and soft woodland greens, this intimate wildlife portrait captures the character and surprisingly expressive face of one of Britain’s most adaptable wild mammals.
